About me
Originally from Southwest Michigan, I moved to Ohio to for my Ph.D. in Communication & Information at Kent State University. Before coming to Kent State University, I received my M.A. in Communication and B.A. in Organizational Communication from Western Michigan University.
My research is at the intersections of privacy and communication technology, society, and interpersonal communication. Specifically, I seek to understand how we manage our privacy via communication with and through machines. This includes both mediated contexts such as digital communication channels and contexts in which we interact with robots and AI chat agents.
In addition to my research, I am a political consultant specializing in campaign start-up logistics, finance, digital media, staff recruitment, and political strategy. Campaigns have been a passion of mine, where I put a tremendous amount of heart into the work I do to help foster change in a community. That's why I'm also a proud member of the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC).
During my free time, I enjoy exploring nature and taking my dog Luna for long walks. I also enjoy coding in my free time.
